Feature highlights
emagiC CMS.Net v14.0 runs on the Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0. Support for the .NET Framework 3.5 has been removed.
The new GoogleMap module is based on the Open Source Artem GoogleMap Control 6.0. Because it uses the Google Map API v3 instead of v2, the module is NOT backwards compatible. If you use the GoogleMap module in your project, please refer to the emagiC CMS.Net technical manual for changes in the moduleskin. For custom coding, please also review changes in the API properties/methods.
emagiC CMS.Net v14 has been tested for Google Maps API v3.9.
Upgrade CKEditor wysiwyg editor
The wysiwyg editor based on the Open Source CKEditor component has been upgraded to CKEditor 3.6.5.
A major effort has been done to make the administration interface of emagiC CMS.Net compatible with Internet Explorer v10 (windows 8 desktop mode). Our thanks go to Microsoft for successively releasing new Internet Explorer versions which are not backwards compatible. Source code modifications were needed for IE6, IE7, IE8, IE9 and now again for IE10.
Note that, at this date (December 2012), Internet Explorer v10 has been released on Windows 8 systems only. As Internet Explorer v10 for Windows 7 has not been finally released yet, we can not guarantee that the administration interface will work 100% error-free under Internet Explorer v10. In case of problems you can always run the administration interface in “compatibility view” mode or use another browser.
- Document folders : for each folder you can define the sort order of the child folders and documents. The sort order will be used in the document treeview and in the document gallery.
- Image folders : for each folder you can define the sort order of the child folders and images. The sort order will be used in the image treeview and in the image gallery.
- Document gallery : new attributes AddDocumentOnClickEvent and AddFolderOnClickEvent (can be used for implementing Google Analytics events).
- Click on an image folder in the management tree to display the image gallery, i.e. an overview of all images in the folder.
- Click on a document folder in the management tree to display the document gallery, i.e. an overview of all documents in the folder.
- Click on a user folder in the management tree to view a list of all defined users.
- Click on a group folder in the management tree to view a list of all defined groups.
- Page types “Application”, “Internal redirect” and “External redirect” now have response status code 301 (moved permanently) instead of 302 (moved temporary).
- As of version 14, the stylesheets are loaded in the PreRenderComplete event of the page instead of the Render event. This has been changed to be compatible with some third-party components (f.e.Telerik Rad controls). If you prefer to keep the original case, i.e. loading the stylesheets in the render event, then add the page attribute loadStylesheetsMode=”v13″ in the web.config file.
